How Powerball Works

The 5/69 main pool, the Powerball, Power Play, and what one play actually is.

One Play, Two Pools

A Powerball play is five main numbers from 1–69 plus one Powerball from 1–26. That is the ticket. Match more of those six numbers and you climb the prize table. Match all six and you hit the jackpot.

Drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The advertised jackpot is an annuity figure. A cash option pays less today. LotterrAI shows both when the official estimate is on file.

Power Play

Power Play is an add-on drawn with the winning numbers. It can raise non-jackpot prizes. It does not change which mains and Powerball you need to match. LotterrAI stores the drawn Power Play with each drawing.

What Stats Are For

Frequency, gaps, and wheels help you organize a set you actually want to play. They do not make one valid combination more likely than another in a fair drawing. Use the tools to build better plays and give yourself more ways to connect — then check them when the numbers post.
